Cautions! everything can be faked in China

Recently, i have received an email, which talks about how people in China cook rats
(yes, r-a-t-s) and make it looks like a squab (duck?), selling to customers in restaurants.

i laughed. not shocking, at all.

It has long been known that China is a country filled with fake products.
Lets not talk about the expensive products, such as diamonds or Louis Vuitton.

Egg could be fake in China.
(OMG! e-g-g! it costs 20cents each. what the? lskijijfijsifjs$%^&*^& well, obviously people in China has too much spare time thinking of how to make a fake egg, isnt it?).

Head-ban could be fake, which made by used condoms.

The chinese version of Harry Potter and The Deadly Hollow could be FAKE!!!
(hey, how?) okay. they write the whole book themselves and sell it before the english version is published. (good job! you win, i have nothing to say at all.)

Disneyland. yes! Disneyland in China, which includes all the cartoons such as mickey mouse, snow white, beijing olympics mascots, hello kitty, doramon and pokymon! (see how pretty the snow white is)

Oh! by the way, Great wall of China could be fake too. (okay, this is enough, i cant be bother to put anymore comment on each fake product.)
-
Large population, un-balance disturbution of wealth; some people could be very very extremely super rich, whereas a large percentage of people suffer from hunger, living in really bad environment.

To live, they have to make good use of their brain - be tricky, be snaky, be immoral. as to keep themselves alive. but this make me think.

Dispite of large amount of un-educated or low-educated population, chinese can be such imaginative, such creative. so why not using their talent on inventing products, instead of faking products that already exit?

OMG! my tutor is everywhere on the news

keep from smh

all i could say is: bad luck, facebook. you have picked the wrong person to bully.

shouldn’t have suspended an journalist’s account with such a silly reason.
especially, when she is an online journalist. a rock one.

Keep, 27, a rock critic from Surry Hill…(has) contributed more than 1000 posted items to the site since she joined 18 months ago. - smh 25sept 2008

never get to know how famous my tutor is, until i read this.
“i should go and add her facebook” i thought. and i did.
okay! elmo, you rock. (not in the purpose of pulling up my marks)

now, see! how powerful a journalist is. how influencial you will be, if you control the media.

4pm.

5pm.

o k a y -
today is saturday. i woke up at 5am, finished work at 3pm. and then, i am sitting in front of an imac inside the computer lap of UTS at the moment. it’s week 11. GOD!

in order to make sure i have 25 posts by next tuesday, i decided to write whatever comes into my head. and what bothers me the most, is the page layout of my magazine publishing class.

here i took pictures of how i spend one hour turning a dummy page into a actual-ready-to-publish magazine pages.

stressful. (i am sure it applys to everyone else in uni)

it counts as a post, does it?

great. i am now heading back home, for some sleep.

Australian black friday, not asian’s

The Australian sharemarket has had its second biggest one-day fall on record as fears of a global recession sparked drops in Asian markets and on Wall Street, where the S&P 500 stock index fell nearly 8 per cent overnight. - 10 October 2008 ABC News

I am not an economic person. not even maths or science or marketing. in precise, i am really bad in those. all i know is, Australia Dollar depreciated from 1AUD=7.8HKD into 1AUD=5.1HKD within two months time. that’s serious, hey.

My chinese friends in Sydney, they all spend a lot suddenly. “no worries, australia dollars is cheap now. and my mum do not have to pay a lot more, even i spent more than i use to.” my friend told me, when we were eating crab in ashfield. HA! obviously, parents of international students are glad to hear such economic depression (i think i am using the wrong word. see! i am bad at economics), especially when this is a time so close to the school payment day.

I am simple, i am dumb and uneducated (in the finance + economy + marketing field), i am glad to hear how the AUD goes down. i am so sorry, but i really am.

Something-goes-round

during the sem-break, i went to melbourne.

i have been busy the last 3 months. i have 3 part time jobs, i go to uni and i had bad time. so much confusions, so much questions in my head, so many changes in my life that i cannot adapt into it. and this is why i need a break, a break away from sydney from work from friends and from my tutor’s bombing emails.

i didnt bring my laptop with me.
and there, i relax, doing nothing apart from enjoying my break.

i remember going to melb’s luna park, where i ride onto the merry go round.
where i suddenly get a strange idea. i say:

imagine life as riding a merry goes round
you ride on a pony looking outside,
the view changes, since merry go round spins with music.
nothing changes outside, what really changing is you, your way to see the world.

sometimes you see thunderstorm, sometimes rollercoaster, or a clear sky covered with stars;
no matter what it is, remember you’re always inside this gloden sparckling shiny warm palace, filled with love, ponys and all your friends.

indeed, you’re not alone, just that each one see views in different times.
and,
it spins. back to the good time you had. always.

how silly. how weird. how encouraging.
i am a dreamer. i write exactly what in my head, without thinking whether it is relevent or not. who cares.

i see the world differently, anyway.
i’ve been much happier than i was. much optimistic towards the future. much rounder with my body (i gained 5kg). and much lazy as well (no more stressful)

i ♥ frankie, why?

Memory on my first day arriving sydney remains fresh.

i was lonely. the first friend i made here calls: frankie. i met her in the airport. and it costs 8 50.
3 years later, she’s still my bi-monthly friend & i dont feel close enough.
out of curiosity, i went to frankie’s blog.

About Frankie
F. is a girlie magazine that covers everything, anything.
too broad? not specific enough? who cares, i am no professional, all i want is something to read in my leisure time, and to enrich the quality of everything in my life. (or may be i could say frankie is a professional of a young women’s life, in precise.)

According to the site about us:

frankie magazine is a national bi-monthly based in Australia, aimed at 20-something women (and men) looking for a magazine that’s as smart, funny, sarcastic, friendly, cute, rude, arty, curious and caring as they are.

…(it) contained great affordable fashion, sweet art, interesting reads and
pretty photography.

It run and is written exactly by the same crew of the magazine, updated every single day. It covers the newest ideas the journalists come with, those ideas may appear in the coming mag, but usually they do not.

Design Elements
Honestly, i made the blog my homepage because it looks good.
♥ clean and simple, but interesting! ♥

attractive banners and moving pictures are used to keep readers curisous. (i admit i am an IMAGE person)
more importantly, things are grouped together in a tidy way, and you know where to go and where to search straight away. without thousands of images putting everywhere, sparkling anywhere on the blog, and you can never tell whether the image is a link or a sponsor or advertisment or header blah blah blah. (see a confusing example here)

Writting Style
all-rounded aspects of daily post to let myself explore what i like, as well as to keep myself open to everything. these posts are usually short, and always come with pictures (which is essential to me). you never want to read a 3000 words essay on screen, arent you?

writers use simple and relaxing way in their stories, because this is a blog for leisurement! not researching for uni, hey. i always think the journalists seems to talk directly to me while i was reading through the lines. they are just like my friends. esp benjamin law.

Readability & Usability
as i have mentioned, the blog is well organised.

it provides a serach engine to filter out specific elements that interests you, which i love using it. and it helps saving a lot of time, hey.

another thing that i love the blog is, they put music player on the blog.
which means, i can listen to songs that has mentioned in the feature of music composers. (instead of using our imagination to compose how the songs are like) i couldnt do so when i am with the magazine.

dont want any songs? no worries. you can always link to external sites when reading the post talking about that specific topic. how about a trailer for the film review? wider your horizon, guys.

a forum is made for discussion amongst readers, which makes the site much more functional, and thus, win a lot of extra readers for them.

i think this is clever to add those on as well: free downloads, wallpapers, faq and links. this makes readers feel like going to a site that take good care of them, providing all sorts of services and freebys.

Overall
the blog works really well with the magazine.

not overlapping of information, each serves its own function: magazine provides long detailed articles, whereas the blog gives updated brief news and let readers to explore the topic themselves. Since it encourages interactions amongst readers. it makes people keep coming back for updated informations.

one more important point is, i firmly believe that the blog is as good as the magazine. sometimes better, since it allows to listen to the music the article talks about. or we can get to see the trailer right after we read ther movie review. and it calls, multifunctional :)

i tried to create a blog like such, but there’s no way for me to have so many function in my blog, no body’s gona participate it in, right? but still, it inspires me to write my blog in an relaxing way, using funny simple words to make people feel like im speaking to them as a close friend.

okay, now. enjoy the blog, enjoy your quality life.

One Saturday of Vintage

.

the buffulo

I remember it was a lovely saturday with plenty of sunshine.
unlike the weather, Fringe Bar is dark cold and old.

Sitting in front of the bar table, sipping your glass of wine, listening to jazz, watching cool stylish people searching for unique-vintage-second-hand-suffs under the red dim light; suddenly, everything in your eyes turns into a piece of art.
and you, you feel like becoming a special person.

Fringe Bar Market,
located in the luxurious Fringe Bar in Paddington, supports local,
vintage and retro collectors. The unique concept initiated (as well as organised) by
Nathan Sullivan
, who himself is an artist urges to support Sydney designers.

The atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous, i say.
feel like i have mistakenly entered someone else’s dream.

not a vintage or retro or punk or whatever style? dont worry. you wont be forced to spent money there.
simply go inside, enjoy some drinks some talks some music as well as the superb atmosphere.
in there, you will experience a brand new way of shopping inside sydney weekend markets - no sunshine, at all.
