POSTCARDS

I pay 9 250 each semester. This may means that im spending approximately 3 000 AUD on writing the tumblr blog here, which means it costs me about 50 bucks each day sitting on the so-comfortable computer chair in room 39, which means i have threw 250 dollars into the river if i have missed one class, which means that i should have print as much paper as i can during class, to cover up my loss.
and then, im not even a concession. i pay FULL PRICE on transportation.
i pay 350 a year for the medibank that covers close-to-nothing. very fair.

i thought the Australian government is the only one who try to extract fortune from us, the-rich-poor-little-international-students; until i found out that our own people - the chinese people are doing exactly the same thing the Australian government is doing.

I got paid $8 an hour in Gloria Jean’s working as a Barista, before tax.

I have worked there for a year, now i got promote as a supervisor, and i got paid 12$ an hour. The tax i paid, are not handed to the tax office, instead directly into the pocket of my boss. It is compulsory to attend a “staff meeting” every 2 weeks friday night lasts long to 3 hours, without getting paid. In which, we have to drink with our boss. Confidential agreement is forced to signed by each of us, so that we are not allow to suit the company for what they are doing.

I thought of leaving.

I love my Gloria Jean’s. I love my workmates. I love coffee. I love Australia’s market.
This is how the love-hate relationship keeps me staying in GJ, keep me studying in Sydney.
